Golden Gate Park.

The Podcast Series
The Bay Curious team created a six-part walking tour of Golden Gate Park that explores the history behind some of our favorite features in the park — the Dutch Windmills, Japanese Tea Garden, Bison Paddock, Polo Field and AIDS Memorial Grove. We also dug into park’s creation, which was once miles and miles of isolation sand dunes with few inhabitants.

The Walking Tour
We invited our listeners to enjoy the series as part of a walking through in the park, and created a custom-designed bandana with a map on it to guide them. Digital-only options were also available.

The Live Event
We partnered with KQED Live and actress Sango Tajima to create and immersive walking tour of the Japanese Tea Garden. It included live music, dance performances and food to sample. Sango was an incredible storyteller and guided guests through the garden while in character.
